Architecture knows no boundaries. It is a practice that relies on the constant act of consideration and empathy stemming from a desire to understand the people who a project serves and make positive contributions to them and their environment.
Ami Dhruva | architecture + design is a boutique studio based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We approach all projects, regardless of scale, with the intent of first gaining a true understanding of the practices, requirements, and design preferences of our clients. We anticipate needs that are not yet realized by the end user and work to incorporate all of this into a harmonious and functional design.
Our design process considers the overall building and site design down to the smallest detail.
We imagine spaces and create vignettes within them.
Ami’s career began two decades ago in New York City. She has degrees in both Architecture and Structural Engineering from the University of Michigan. After graduating with a Masters in Architecture from Columbia University and winning the Lucille Smyser Lowenfish Memorial Design Award, Ami worked with Rafael Vinoly Architects and Kohn Pederson Fox in New York City on a wide variety of local and international projects including commercial highrises, multi-family & single-family residential buildings, and educational facilities. She then took an opportunity to join a Developer/Architect focused on incorporating high design into multi-family residential developments and hospitality projects. It was during this time that her desire and ability to combine an elevated design approach with personalized Owner intent blossomed.
Ami is a licensed Architect in Florida and New York with recently completed commercial, hospitality, and residential work in Broward and Palm Beach Counties. The hallmarks of her local work are intuitive design, a collaborative process with the Owner, and strict and responsive oversight, which lead to a high quality and extremely useful built space.
